Is There are Connection Between Spiritual Health and Physical Healing?
Sickness if often a results of an unhealthy spiritual or emotional condition. People who are suffering from negative emotions including fears, negative thoughts, anger, resentment, or abnormal amounts of stress will soon find themselves spiritually or emotionally unhealthy which also affects our physical health. If you ask ministers and some alternative health experts what they think about physical health, they will tell you that diseases that people encounter is a result of poor spiritual health and well being. Many other people believe that physical diseases can be linked to spiritual or emotional factors.
If there is a strong connection between physical health and spiritual health, then we only need to strengthen our spiritual lives so that our bodies can be healed. You will feel great physically, if you feel great spiritually and emotionally. Illnesses can progress and last depending on the attitude that you have while you are experiencing the illness. During your ill days, the best thing you can do is to keep on trusting God for healing and guidance through these times of uncertainty.
You alone can judge your spiritual health. If you really want to know your spiritual health, it takes a careful self examination of your heart or mind if you have thoughts of anger, fear, anxiety, unwillingness to forgive, negativity or other emotions that is not good for your soul and it can also harm your body too. All people have a predominant emotion that rules their life. Holding on to these toxic and negative emotions is exposing your body to become sick eventually. To become really healthy you should try to cultivate emotions of love, joy, peace, patience, and faith in God. These are the fruits of the spirit. If you fill your heart overflowing with these and open the door to God’s healing light, you filter out the emotional that keep you spiritually dark that causes physical illness.
If you maintain good spiritual healthy, you will be better equipped to face the problems around you. Even during the uneventful times in your life you should keep your faith in God so that you will be stronger when the time comes when you circumstances and health are challenged.
Reading the Bible, praying, meditating, deep breathing, and others, help to foster spiritual health. If you do these activities constantly you will then become more spiritually or emotionally healthy. Bad emotions like fear, anger, and bitterness can be overcome if you do these activities regularly. Those who are able to read the Bible regularly will know of the love and faithfulness of God which is strong enough to conquer the negative emotions in our lives.
Don’t expect healing to be instantaneous even if you have the most positive attitude. Handling your sickness in a strong manner is the effect of having a strong spiritual well being so you don’t really mind the sufferings of your physical infirmity.
